What we can do for you
Osteopathy
Based on a precise holistic examination, tissue tension and loss of mobility are released through targeted mobilization and manipulation in order to restore the body’s balance. Increased tissue tension impairs biomechanics and often reduces performance and well-being. The three main areas of osteopathy are:
- the parietal musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles, bones, tendons, fascia)
- the visceral system (connections, adhesions and scars in the organ area)
- the cranio-sacral system (connection of the brain, nerves and spinal cord via the meninges to the skull and sacrum)
pediatric osteopathy
Paediatric osteopathy is an effective and side-effect-free therapy method that can help children to grow up healthy and develop optimally.
It is a gentle and holistic therapy method that is specially tailored to the needs of babies and children. Targeted manual techniques are used to release blockages in the body and restore the child’s natural balance and mobility.
The osteopathic approach takes into account not only the physical complaints, but also the emotional and mental aspects of the child. Treatment can not only alleviate acute complaints such as sleep disorders, colic or developmental delays, but also prevent long-term health problems.
We always work gently and sensitively to gain the child’s trust and create a relaxed atmosphere. As parents, you are involved in the treatment process and often receive recommendations for supportive therapy at home.
Sportosteopathy
Sports osteopathy is an effective therapy method for athletes of all levels, from recreational athletes to professional athletes, which focuses on the needs of people who are active in sports.
It aims to improve physical performance, prevent injuries and speed up recovery from sports injuries.
Targeted manual techniques are used to correct muscular imbalances, joint blockages and movement restrictions in order to restore the optimal function of the musculoskeletal system. Not only the acute symptoms, but also the individual training goals and sporting lifestyle are taken into account.
It is advisable to integrate regular osteopathic treatments into the training programme in order to achieve long-term success and maintain the health of the musculoskeletal system.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese therapy method that is based on over 2000 years of experience and is also becoming increasingly popular in Western medicine. In acupuncture, special needles are placed at specific points on the body to release blockages in the energy flow and activate the body’s own self-healing powers.
Acupuncture can be used for a variety of ailments and conditions, including chronic pain, stress, sleep disorders, allergies, digestive problems and much more.
Targeted stimulation of the acupuncture points not only treats the symptoms, but also addresses the underlying causes on a physical, emotional and mental level.
Our philosophy
Patients come to us with a variety of conditions. Pain in the musculoskeletal system, such as back, knee or shoulder pain, is classic. But we also treat headaches, migraines, numbness in the extremities or digestive problems, as well as many other problems, if they are caused by a functional disorder. Together we will recognise your problem and initiate the necessary therapy with the appropriate treatment methods (osteopathy, acupuncture, physiotherapy, etc.).
Janina Fournell
Osteopath, physiotherapist
I decided early on to make my professional involvement in competitive sport the centre of my life.
From 2011-2014 I completed my qualification as a recognised physiotherapist in the north of Germany.
I then worked for a rehabilitation clinic specialising in competitive sports, where I was able to expand my surgical and orthopaedic skills in the field of physiotherapy.
At the same time, I gained experience in competitive sport as a physiotherapist at a football performance centre in the second division.
My quest for knowledge led me to complete a five-year training programme to become an osteopath at the AON Kiel in 2016.
During this training phase, I had two children and shifted my main interest from sports to paediatric osteopathy.
Marc Fournell
Osteopath, alternative practitioner, physiotherapist
Based on my own experience in competitive sport, I was fascinated by the human body and its ability to perform and recover from an early age.
So I finally found my way to physiotherapy and trained as a physiotherapist in Kiel from 2010 to 2013.
During my time in education, I realised that I was interested in gaining more in-depth knowledge.
I therefore decided to complete a five-year training programme to become an osteopath in Germany from 2011-2016.
During my training, I was already looking for opportunities to apply what I had learnt and refine techniques through physiotherapy support for a football team and athletes.
In four years of employment, I was able to acquire a broad spectrum of experience in the field of osteopathy.
In 2017, I received my licence to practise medicine and went into self-employment to develop new treatment approaches.
My children and sport have always been very important to me and I specialised in sports and pediatric osteopathy.
Since then, an efficient holistic and cause-related approach of osteopathy, traditional Chinese acupuncture and training methods has been developed, which makes it possible to achieve sustainable therapeutic success.
As a member of the VOD and a state-recognised physiotherapist, we are partially able to bill German health insurance companies.
